Legal Aid and Defender reaches out to those residents of Metro Detroit who have limited English proficiency (LEP). Attorneys and support personnel include attorneys who speak fluent Spanish, Arabic, Chaldean, French and other languages. Handout and promotional materials are available in Spanish, and Arabic, as well as other languages. In addition to presenters and other attorneys who attend the public meetings, translators can be available for targeted audiences.
The organization also uses Language Line as a resource for translation services for many other languages.
